Salted Peanut Miracles
This is CookieChick's choice for new cookie this yeart. They're kind of like a Pay Day bar - chewy, peanutty, and salty/sweet. I'm sorry if they look a little beat up. I made a technical error when storing them and they sorta melted together.
Ingredients
1 cup | all-purpose flour |
1/2 cup | crushed pretzels |
1/2 tsp | baking powder |
1/4 tsp | baking soda |
1/2 cup | butter, soft |
2/3 cup | brown sugar, packed |
1 | egg |
2 tsp | vanilla |
1 | 7 oz jar marshmallow creme |
1/2 cup | creamy peanut butter |
1/4 cup | powdered sugar |
1 cup | salted cocktail peanuts |
1 | 14 oz package caramels, unwrapped |
2 Tbsp | milk |
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 13 x 9 inch pan with aluminum foil.
- For crust, in a small bowl, combine flour, pretzels, baking soda and baking powder.
In another bowl, beat butter on high, for 30-60 seconds or until fluffy. Beat in brown sugar, egg, and vanilla. Beat in flour mixture. Spread dough in prepared pan. Bake 12-14 minutes. Cool on rack. - In medium bowl, put marshmallow creme and peanut butter. Microwave 30 seconds or until soft. Stir in powdered sugar. Spread over warm crust. Sprinkle with peanuts
- In medium heavy saucepan, heat caramels and milk over medium-low heat until smooth. Pour and spread over peanut butter layer.
- Cool completely. Cut into bars.
